United boys blow Windmill off course

DESPITE trailing 2-0 at half-time, United under-12s stormed back to post an impressive win against Windmill Stars with Joe Colton netting an outstanding hat-trick of goals.

Colton grabbed his first five minutes into the second half and then latched onto an exquisite through ball from Chris Lowe to tie the scores.

Midway through the half, substitute Nial McCaffrey connected with a Michael Corless cross to score with his first touch before Colton swooped from close range to complete the comeback in the final minute.

OMAGH took some time to settle and it was only after goalkeeper Jason Bartley made a spectacular save that the home side took the lead midway through the first half.

Mark Traynor instigated the move by sending Jude Ballard scampering clear on the right and the livewire's first-time delivery picked out Jamie Glackin who headed home.

A hard working Omagh continued in the ascendancy in the second half with Jonathan Cresswell, Matty Clark and Lee Frazer calling the shots.

And it was no real surprise when Omagh rubber-stamped their victory through Matthew Buchanan, who volleyed to the net after the visiting defence only partially cleared a Tommy Murphy corner.
