THE festival for Body and Soul is happening this Saturday between 10am and 4pm with celebrity chef Paul Rankin, the world famous Baron Carousels Acrobats, Siobhan Petit Jazz Band, Hugo Duncan and the Radio Foyle Roadshow and the Strabane Farmers market all on show.
World famous celebrity chef, Paul Rankin will be headlining the Festival for Body and Soul which will take place in multiple sites including the Strabane Farmers Market on the Score Site, the Alley Theatre and Strabane Community Library. The festival will be a family filled fun day aimed at promoting healthy eating and cooking styles for children and families, using locally grown and organic produce.
The festival will also be aiming to promote people of all ages to develop and broaden their interests in the arts, whether it is from salsa dancing to jazz, circus displays to art exhibitions, from verbal arts to street theatre, the festival aims to offer tasters in a variety of different art forms for people to enjoy and get involved in.
Celebrity chef Paul Rankin will be providing three mouth watering cookery demonstrations free of charge to the public within the Strabane Community Library at 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm.
The Alley Theatre will be hosting the Baron Carousels, the world famous acrobats, as part of their contribution to the festival. This fantastic acrobatic troop will be performing in two shows in this wonderful new venue at 12 noon and at 3pm. Tickets for this exciting show are only £3 for adults and £2 for children (show length is 45 minutes).
On the Score Site, the Strabane Farmers Market will have in addition to their wide variety of farmers' stalls including local fruit, vegetables, meat, cakes and cheeses, a set of special cookery demonstrations from local chefs only using products which can be found on within the market itself.
