BAD TASTE CRU HIP HOP DANCE WORKSHOPS

Bad Taste Cru (BTC) will be delivering beginner workshops covering the basics of b-boying (break-dancing) from Monday to Saturday, August 10-15 from 2pm – 5pm for ages 12 to 17 years. Giving an insight into the history of the dance and the music that inspired it they will work with the young people to co create a performance for the public. Workshops include pilates, yoga and performance techniques. During this week BTC will work with participants to devise a short piece of dance which will be performed in Strule Arts Centre on Saturday, August 15.

PRINT WORKSHOPS

Do you want to get your sleeves rolled up and get down and dirty with ink? Then Print Making workshops are for you. From Monday to Friday, August 10-14, 10am – 4pm, this week-long workshop will teach you the art of screen printing – the printmaking technique that creates a sharp-edged image using a stencil. Screen printing is a popular craft in both fine arts and commercial printing, where it is used to print images on T-shirts, hats, CDs, DVDs, ceramics, glass, polyethylene, polypropylene, paper, metals and wood. With the versatility of this art form you can let your imagination run wild and create posters, flyers, T-shirts or whatever you decide...just be creative!

ROCK SCHOOL

Do you want to waste another week of your holidays hanging about doing nothing and complaining that you're bored or do you want to sign up for a rock week of vast proportions? Join the Rock School from Monday to Friday, August 17-21, 10am – 4pm. This will be one week that could change your life. You can make a performance, record a CD, record a podcast and still be home in time for dinner. You will be offered tuition for guitar, drums, bass guitar, keyboards and vocals. We would really like it if you can already play some chords, keep a beat or sing. Bring your own instrument or if we can, we will lend you what we've got. Places are limited.

DRAMA WORKSHOP

Are you a budding actor or student of drama with a keen interest in performing arts? Would you like to tread the boards of Strule Arts Centre? From Monday to Friday, August 24-28, from 10am to 4pm daily, join tutor Peter McLaughlin for a week of workshops that will explore and extend your theatrical skills and talents.
