Famine group fundraiser thanks

The Omagh Famine Group extends thanks to all who participated in its Christmas fundraising activities which raised £7,610.08 on behalf of the Third World. The Famine Group street collection on December 5 2009 raised a total of £2,803.60. Carol singing by St Colmcille's PS, Loreto Primary and Grammar School on December 10 raised £608.64. The Concern street collection on December 19 raised £3,509.41. The group also participated in a bag pack in Asda Stores on December 31 and raised £688.43.

Thanks to the local schools who participated in carol singing, to all those who collected or bag packed on behalf of the group and to the people of Omagh and surrounding areas who gave so generously to the charity. The group has donated all proceeds to Concern, Oxfam, Trocaire and Save the Children for their work in the developing world.
