Omawest seeks community suggestions to develop play facilities in the area

OMAWEST Community Development Association is calling for local residents in the Brookmount, Tamlaght and Dromore Road areas to come up with ideas on how best to utilise Todd's Field (opposite St Conor's PS).

The community association has been recently approached regarding the lack of recreational and sporting facilities in the Omawest area. They are now looking for the community, both young and old, to suggest ideas for this area in addition to the existing play facility.

IDEAS

An Omawest spokesperson said, "We would ask the community to suggest constructive, realistic and achievable ideas and to be mindful of costs, as funds are limited. In order to keep within the current landscape of the area, no structural buildings will be considered."

Some of the ideas suggested so far include a nature garden, more benches and an upgrade of the football area.

The spokesperson continued, "We do not want to influence any views you may have. We want to give people the opportunity to come with their own ideas of what should be there, not what we think."

If you wish to contribute a suggestion for the redevelopment of Todd's Field, you are asked to post your idea to Omawest Todd's Field Project, 1 Strule Park, Omagh, BT78 5HN, before 5pm on Friday, August 24. If you require any assistance call 028 8225 1955.
