A young lad from Belfast, George Best was the first true celebrity footballer and an unforgettable sporting legend whose skill and courage embodied for many the spirit of the 1960s. His style and grace on the pitch, which set him above his fellow players and helped him take the international football stage by storm, inspired Pele to describe him as "the best player in the world".
Strule Arts Centre in Omagh presents this dynamic and fast paced piece of dance theatre from Maiden Voyage Dance Company on Wednesday, March 3 at 8pm, tickets £10/£7 concession.
Celebrating Best's football genius and leads the audience through glimpses of his life, loves, lows and triumphs spanning a 40 year period. Choreographed by Andy Howitt with music from across the decades.
The performance is suitable for ages 12 and over and would be especially interesting for boys or girls who do not participate in the arts as a way to introduce dance as a skilled and dynamic physical activity and art form.
To encourage groups to come along and see the performance, Maiden Voyage is offering a free workshop to groups who book 20 or more tickets for the show.
