THE stage is set for a bumper programme of festive season dancing at the Mellon Country Hotel featuring some of the biggest bands in the country.
The action kicks off on Friday, December 29 when Dominic Kirwan and his band, making a rare local appearance, will be on stage. Then on New Year's Night, January 1, Jimmy Buckley will be the big attraction while Declan Nerney pays a welcome return visit to the Mellon on Friday, January 5.
Dominic Kirwan has been consolidating his reputation as one of the top dancing bands in Ireland of late and will be doing even more shows in this country this year. Still one of the most polished performers around, he is sure of a big welcome on Friday week, December 29, when he takes the stage.
For Jimmy Buckley, 2006 has been an unforgettable year. The singer with the biggest following of all, he is now firmly established as the No1 attraction, the 'house full' signs being posted regularly when he performs.
The stunning success of his single, The Wedding Song, propelled him into the super-stardom league and he has just returned from the United States where he made a hugely successful television appearance last week-end.
He is sure to get a rapturous reception at the Mellon Country Hotel on New Year's Night (January 1) where he played to a packed house on his last visit in October.
Then on Friday, January 5, Declan Nerney will be on stage for what promises to be a lively show given his band's reputation as one of the most talented all-round combinations on the entertainment scene.
Declan's reputation has been considerably enhanced lately and he will bring his own special brand of country music and all-round showmanship to the Mellon Country Hotel for what will be the perfect send-off to 2007
The venue is certainly the place to be for the best in country dancing over the festive period!
