Sinn Féin Cllr Frankie Donnelly has slammed the 'minimal' traffic calming measure being take at a Drumquin school.
The Omagh District councillor said, "I have been lobbying DRD roads service over the past number of months at the request of anxious parents concerned about the safety of their children on the way to the St Joseph's Primary School in Drumquin
"I have recently been informed that DRD Roads service intends to introduce minimal traffic calming measures around the primary school in Drumquin. Nothing less than full traffic calming measure should be accepted. However his isn't the view of other public representatives for this area. Others are prepared to accept half measure. We are taking about the safety of children here. We shouldn't accept have measures over the safety of anyone.
"With the new school year upon us I am calling for full traffic calming measures around Drumquin primary school and will be lobbying DRD Roads service to resolve this situation."
