Police issue warning following burglary incident

POLICE are urging residents in the Omagh area to be wary following a burglary at a house in the Ardtearmann area of Sixmilecross on Monday night.

A woman discovered a number of items missing from her kitchen when she returned from a having a shower. Among the items taken were £800 in cash and a folder containing personal papers.

It is understood two women, believed to be foreign nationals, had called at the house earlier that evening (between 7.30pm and 8pm) and inquired if the house was available for renting. The owner of the property felt the women were being very pushy and asked them to leave.

The first woman is described as being 5ft tall and was wearing dark rimmed glasses. She had black hair tied up in a ponytail with a fringe. She was wearing a white zipped top and blue jeans. The second woman was approximately 5ft 3" tall with sallow skin and short red/brown hair. She was wearing a brown and cream knitted jumper and blue jeans.

It is believed the women left in a dark green/blue old type Ford Escort.

Police would be keen to speak to the women or anyone else who could provide information about the incident. The number to call is 0845 600 8000.
