DARD compensation

THE compensation rate payable for a BSE affected animal, valued in the month of Septembe, will be either; (a) The animals assessed value; or (b) £489, whichever is lesser. For Negative Animal; (a) The animals assessed value; or (b) £611.25, whichever is lesser.

BRUCELLOSIS

The compensation payable for Brucellosis reactors, for which notice of intended slaughter is issued in September, will be either: (a) 75% of the animal's market value: or (b) 75% of £988 (75% of £1,288 in the case of pedigree animals), whichever is the lesser.

Steady trade at Gortin

FAT lambs continued at a steady trade at Gortin on Monday evening and sold to a top of £61. Fat ewes reached £44.50. Breeding hoggets sold from £63 to £79 each.
