Aughnacloy store racks up another top award

POUNDHILL SuperValu Aughnacloy, owned by Leo Daly, was named as a category winner at the Musgrave SuperValu-Centra annual Store of the Year Awards which were held last week at a glamorous ceremony at the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle. The store won the 'Best Store under 8,000 sq ft' category and achieved the highest standard of choice and customer service required by the MSVC Group.

On being presented with the award by sponsors, local company Cantrell and Cochrane, Leo Daly said, "At SuperValu Aughnacloy we are very proud to be named winners in this very competitive category. There are 37 SuperValu stores through out Northern Ireland and the standard across the group is very high making the honour all the more satisfying.

"In the coming year, we will aim to build on this success and improve the service we offer our customers. We would like to thank MSVC for all their help and support."

Paul McGuigan, sales director, Musgrave SuperValu-Centra said, "Congratulations to Leo, manager John McSorley, and all the staff at SuperValu Aughnacloy in being named category winner in the SuperValu Store of the Year competition.

"The audit process that stores undergo is the most rigorous of any Award scheme in the industry and Poundhill SuperValu displays consistently high standards in both its offering and customer service. It is great to see a team with such passion for servicing their community being recognised for their commitment. MSVC are proud to support Leo, John and all of their team to even more success in the future."

With a strong focus on customer service, convenience and freshness, Poundhill SuperValu offers a wide range of services and this year launched its Wine Club. The store aims to provide everything the customer needs for a one stop shop.

In 2006, SuperValu Aughnacloy was honoured with a host of awards including Best Customer Service of the Year at both the Neighbourhood Retailer Awards and at Ireland's Forecourt and Convenience Awards and was highly commended at the UK Retail Industry Awards.
