NORTHERN Ireland Electricity has launched a new website with all the information you need to get connected! The website is a one stop information point for anyone needing a new electricity supply, an alteration or a disconnection.

Sinead McAnaney, NIE Planning Co-ordinator for the Tyrone area says the website should be the first point of reference for anyone planning building work.

"Good planning will take a lot of the stress out of any building project, and applying for a new electricity supply should be considered at the outset. With the massive increase in housing applications and building work across Northern Ireland, NIE is keen to make everyone aware of how to get connected, in a timely and safe manner. NIE's new website will walk you through the steps involved in a variety of projects, from a large scale industrial site to a small home extension.

"Much of the connections process, especially for larger housing and commercial developments, is dependent on third party landowners and external organisations such as the Planning Service and DRD. Timely application is vital to ensure we can provide the best service and help you get your job completed on time."

The website gives you all the information you need including a step-by-step walk through the application process, safety advice, Frequently Asked Questions and downloadable application forms.

Sinead adds, "In recent years we have streamlined our processes, making it easier to apply for a new or altered connection. We now have a dedicated connections team at each NIE depot and they will be dealing with your application from start to finish."
