THE autumn/winter series of "Dates for your Diary" events, organised by Omagh District Council to support local business, kicks off on Wednesday, September 19. The theme for the lunchtime event, which takes place in the Training Room, Council Offices at the Grange, is Cross-Border Trade and the business development opportunities it presents.
The ability of businesses to compete outside their region, nationally and internationally, is recognised as vital to stimulating growth within an economy. In today's rapidly evolving economy, the Republic of Ireland presents tremendous opportunities for closer economic interaction and considerable export market growth.
The guest speaker at the lunchtime event is Aidan Gough, strategy and policy director, InterTradeIreland. InterTradeIreland is a key conduit through which companies can develop their businesses on an all-island basis and provides the guidance and means by which business people can exploit the opportunities such co-operation presents.
Council Chairman Bert Wilson welcomed this latest event in the 'Date for Diary' series as a progressive initiative by the council which supports and helps develop the economic prospects of local businesses.
Cllr Sean Begley, who chairs the Economic Development Advisory Group, said, "This seminar will allow local business people attending to learn more about trade and business development opportunities on a cross-border and international basis", he said.
Anyone interested in learning more about increasing business profitability, the benefits of an all- island market and the potential of collaborative ventures into international markets will find this informative lunchtime business networking event sponsored by Omagh District Council, of immense value.
