Tommy returns to the Alley

The Alley Theatre in Strabane welcomes the wonderful Tommy Fleming, Ireland's biggest selling Irish artist over recent years, who appears in concert on Friday, May 30.

The Alley Theatre in Strabane welcomes the

wonderful Tommy Fleming, Ireland's biggest

selling Irish artist over recent years, who appears

in concert on Friday, May 30.

His Voice of Hope album was the number one selling CD and number two selling DVD in 2005/6. This success has been followed with a new studio album entitled A Life Like Mine, released under his new record label, Universal Music, the first of a recently signed five album deal and this album also went platinum.

Tommy's concerts are the biggest selling shows in venues throughout the entire island and these successes have come after 18 years of hard graft. His last performance at the Alley was a sell-out performance, and this year the Alley is please to announce that tickets are selling fast for this special night of music.

His latest album is called A Journey Home and is also presented as CD / DVD recorded live at the INEC in Killarney with a 23-piece orchestra, band and choir. It catalogues the 'journey' of Irish music from Thomas Moore to U2. Tommy is also expanding to other territories having recently signed to Universal Classics and Jazz who have taken all of his back catalogue of recordings in addition to the recent albums. In this regard, he is now a stablemate of such luminaries as Andreas Bocelli, Russell Watson, Catherine Jenkins, Leslie Garrett, Bryn Terfnell, Hayley Westerner and Dame Kiri Tae Kanawa. What an achievement – and incredible as this may seem, he has just completed his first recording with some of the above.

Nathan Flatman, marketing officer for the Alley Theatre, said, "After his performance in our opening season we have been hit with hundreds of requests to bring Tommy back. Fortunately we contacted his management at the start

of the year and Tommy confirmed he would be

delighted to come back and play at the Alley."
