When police saw a Vauxhall Corsa revving loudly on the Kelvin Road in Omagh on April 26 they subsequently discovered the driver was over the alcohol limit and had no documentation to be behind the wheel of a car .
Marcin Topa (32) of Culmore Park, Omagh has been disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined a total £480 for the excess alcohol offence, driving without insurance and a licence and not wearing a seatbelt.
Defending solicitor John McCaffrey said the car did not belong to Topa and the incident was 'a night out that went wrong.' He added that the disqualification will be 'no great inconvenience' as the defendant is brought to work by others. Mr McCaffrey stated that his client moved to this jurisdiction from Poland two years ago and has been in employment since his arrival. He also asked for credit for the early guilty plea. RM Greg McCourt allowed Topa 14 weeks to pay the fine.
