Familyrapp.com is the perfect guide for family-based information on the Internet. The creators of this site like many Internet users became frustrated following endless links to nowhere on sites supposedly containing relevant material. The result of their efforts is this site, an online magazine for parents and carers of children between the ages of 3 and 13. Their overall aim is an admirable one, the aim to 'build a community of readers who would like to keep the idea of the family unit alive in a world which makes this very difficult to achieve'. Familyrapp is a weekly online magazine bursting with parenting articles to help you enjoy family life. There are nine sections including bookclub, healthrapp, rapp&go, kids books, pack&go, drugrapp, edurapp, foodrapp and e-shopping. So if you are looking for inspiration in the kitchen, advice on understanding Children's Medicine, or educational material for your children then this is definitely one site you should add to your Internet favorites.
This site, unlike so many other diet/health sites on the Internet, presents itself in a different way. Instead of promoting the latest faddy diet or expensive slimming product, Calorie Counter provides, "Support for people who want to adopt a healthy lifestyle, and encourage you in looking and feeling great." It aims to be a complete resource of information to help you look and feel your personal best. If this sounds like a site for you, then waste no time and log on. There are four main sections, Health, Diet, Exercise and Store. In the 'Health' section they look at the health issues behind watching your weight and controlling your calories. Under 'Diet' they look at ways of incorporating a healthy approach to food into your daily routine, and look at many different diet plans. Under 'Exercise', they discuss the different types of exercise available and finally under 'Store' they provide you with links to Calorie Counter essentials.
Having assisted and watched my mother nurse both her parents through Alzheimer's I found this site very comforting. It is a difficult thing to watch, as your parents/grandparents become different people as dementia starts to take hold and eventually takes over. This site introduces you to The Alzheimer Society of Ireland who aim to provide people suffering with all forms of dementia, their families and carers with the necessary support to improve their quality of life. Along with their 29 Branches, a national network of Day Care Centres, Home Care/Support Services, Carer Support Groups and one residential Respite Centre, they also operate the Alzheimer National Helpline offering information and emotional support. Whether you want to know exactly what dementia and Alzheimer's disease are, or want to read information sheets on 'Early symptoms and diagnosis', this site can help. If you are currently caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's, or know of anyone who is, make sure you log on to this site for advice, reassurance and assistance.
