Omagh Sligo Joint Cultural Events Project is pleased to welcome back Stage Beyond Theatre Company and their new adaptation of George Bizet's classic opera Carmen, in Strule Arts Centre on Tuesday, May 20 at 11.30am.
Directed by Jenny Long and with an original score by graduate students from the University of Ulster, Stage Beyond debuted Carmen in the Millennium Forum to a sold out audience. This adaptation is a highly ambitious production filled with music, dance, love and murder! A spokesperson said, "The company has spent the past six months working on Carmen. We knew we were undertaking a very large scale project with bigger sets and more elaborate costumes, but the company were up for the challenge and it has been so much fun."
Stage Beyond is a theatre company for young adults with learning disabilities. The company is made up of 14 members from throughout the North West, who already have shown a keen interest in drama. These actors research, devise and tour shows as well as providing accompanying workshops.
