X Factor time in Fintona once again

Following the success of last year's event, Fintona is once again gearing itself up for another X-Factor finale.

Last year's X Factor event was so well supported by the people of Fintona that over £10,000 was raised for the Goodlife Orphanage in Kenya.

This year's X Factor, sponsored by Tommy Donnelly, is currently in rehearsal for their big night - Saturday, November 28 when a sell out crowd is expected to St Patrick's Hall. The MC for the evening, Michael Colgan, has to be congratulated for his sterling work for the orphanage and will no doubt keep the entertainment at a high level.

The musical director, Sinead Loane, assisted by Fanchea Donnelly, has taken all the singers and choir to a very high level.

A total of 14 acts have made it through to this year's finals with acts from Tempo, Galbally, Ballinderry, Eskra and Fintona. Last year's winners got rave reviews, so what can we expect this year? Come along and see for yourself these talented children.

The local St Laurence's Youth Choir will be taking part. Three independent judges have already been appointed and a special draw for £100 will take place at the interval.

Special guests on the night 'The Blues Brothers' will perform some of their favourites as will last year's winner of the X Factor, Maeve McCarney.

Tickets are at a premium as the numbers are limited and the show will start at 8pm. You can get your tickets at various pubs and shops in the town or phone 07834 808195.

The Goodlife Orphanage in Kenya takes orphans from the poorest of the poor and provides them with care and love. Every penny collected goes directly to the orphanage. All volunteers and helpers pay their own costs.
