CCE concert was a 'hidden treasure'

I had the privilege of being at an outstanding concert at Dun Uladh last Saturday night which was presented by the Omagh branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann.

Most of the performers were young people who have received their tuition from the Omagh branch of Comhaltas and I was astounded at the range of talent and at the very high standard which had been achieved.

This is a hidden treasure under our own eyes which many are not aware of. The artistes played a very wide range of instruments and their performance was truly a credit to all those involved in teaching them.

It is wonderful to see what is being done for the promotion of traditional music in the Omagh area and great credit is due to the Omagh branch for the efforts they are making to preserve the tradition and to interest so many young people in Irish traditional music.

Delighted
