A SIXMILECROSS man wrote to the magistrates court to admit a charge of driving while over the alcohol limit.
The court was told Patrick Lewis McNamee (33) of Remackan Road was stopped by police on Bridge Street in Omagh on November 25 last year. They noticed a smell of alcohol from his breath and his face was 'flushed.'
An evidential sample recorded a reading of 70 microgrammes, twice the legal limit. The defendant was also convicted of driving without insurance and a licence. He was fined £450 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
RM Greg McCourt who noted McNamee had apologised in his letter to the court allowed 16 weeks to pay the fine.
