| Omagh Academy Equestrian Team |
On Easter Tuesday the showjumping team travelled to Silverwood, Lurgan, to compete in the Inter-Schools team showjumping competition and took runners-up spot overall. Twenty teams took part in the event and the Academy team managed to keep a clean sheet right up to the end when the competitors from Banbridge pipped them on time. The team members all jumped clear in the first two rounds and progressed to the jump-off against the clock with seven other teams. Banbridge Academy and Omagh Academy were the only two teams to finish on a zero score. The members representing Omagh Academy were Katie Leonard on Western Myth, Kerri Patterson on Tullycunny Lass, Stephen Clements on My Hidden Surprise and Gemma Elliott on The Sparkling Mr Barrontop.

| Omagh Christian Brothers MacRory/Hogan Cup GAA Team |
Omagh CBS clinched the Holy Grail last spring under the guidance of joint managers Noel Donnelly and Ciaran McBride. After squeezing past St Macartan’s Monaghan courtesy of Simon O’Neill’s dramatic late winner in the MacRory Cup Final, the Brothers boys then turned their thoughts to possible All-Ireland glory. They got the better of St Jarlath’s Tuam following an epic semi-final tussle, that will live long in the memory. Captained by Gareth Haughey Omagh saved the best for last with a stylish and emphatic demolition of Kerry and Munster kingpins Tralee CBS in the Hogan Cup final at Croke Park, the Tyrone lads pulling away to claim the school’s first ever All-Ireland Colleges crown on a 0-16 to 0-7 scoreline.

It was a first final for both teams but the Omagh girls rose to the occasion displaying an excellent standard of netball to the delight of the spectators in Omagh Leisure Centre. | St Ciaran’s High School Ladies U-16 GAA Team |
St Ciaran’s girls team displayed great character and skill when winning the Ulster Vocational Schools U-16 Grade A Ulster championship crown against Carrickmacross 2-9 to 1-7. The Ballygawley school have not claimed this particular title since 2001. There have been a few near misses in between but the 2007 squad pulled off a sweet victory and secured some precious silverware for the St Ciaran’s trophy cabinet. Team managers Maria Curran and Pauline Murphy were full of praise for the girls following a tough final and some very close battles along the way in Tyrone and Ulster. The girls showed tremendous courage and drive all through and that came to the fore again in the Ulster final. Captain Nicola McAnenly led by example for St Ciaran’s, with Lycrecia Quinn collecting the player-of-the-match award.
