About The Ulster Herald

© The Ulster Herald was first published in 1901 and although concentrated in Omagh, the county town, it circulates throughout the whole county of Tyrone and also into the counties of Derry and Fermanagh.

The population of the Omagh District is approx. 52,000 and circulation figures of the 'Ulster Herald' are greater than any other weekly newspaper in this area.The main source of employment is the service sector with many of the statutory agencies having their headquarters based in the town. Other major employers include. With an extensive rural hinterland, the agricultural industry is a significant employer also.
