Vehicles vandalised in Belleek and Enniskillen


Police are investigating criminal damage to a van belonging to Belleek Pottery.

The company vehicle, a red Transit van registration '01-DL-421' had all its windows and lights smashed and an attempt was made to light the interior of the van.

The damage, estimated at £2000 was caused sometime between 2.00pm on 8th November at the morning of 10th November. Forensic officers have attended the scene and their investigations are continuing.

In a separate incident the wing mirror of a Vauxhall Corsa car was kicked off while the vehicle was parked outside the Crowe's Nest pub in Enniskillen. The incident happened in the early hours of 7th November.

Alcohol stolen from off-licence

Police are investigating the theft of alcohol from an off-licence in Derrylin. The theft was reported to police on 3rd November and it was reported that a quantity of alcohol was stolen from the premises on 1st November. A second theft was reported the following day. In this first instance 115 euro worth of drink was taken and, in the second case, 65 euro of alcohol was taken.

Police believe a red Volkswagen van, registration '08-MN-1352' may have been involved.

Residents meet about bio park

Residents of Swanlinbar have arranged a meeting tonight (Wednesday), in the local St Mary's Hall, at 8 o'clock to consider matters raised at a recent information night on a proposal to establish a bio park about half a mile from the village on the Bawnboy Road.

Property damaged in Enniskillen

Police are investigating two separate incidents of criminal damage in Enniskillen.

In the first incident, reported to police on 5th November, a fence and windows of a property at Windmill Heights in the town, were damaged.

The damage, believed to have happened over the night of 4th November, amounted to a broken window in the house and damage to a front and rear fence.

In the second incident, reported on 6th November, a brick was put through a window at Cavandale, Cavanaleck. An upstairs doubled-glazed window was broken in this incident. No injuries were reported.

Theft of rowing machine

Police are investigating the theft of a rowing machine from Portora Royal School in Enniskillen. It was noticed the machine was missing last Tuesday from a shed in the grounds of the school.

The school has already conducted an internal inquiry but as this found nothing the matter has been reported to police.

The machine, a Concept II Rowing Machine, is valued at £1000 and may have gone missing over the Halloween period. Only staff members would have keys for the shed where the machine was stored.
