Celebrity Chef, Neven Maguire of RTE fame, will host his renowned cookery demonstration to raise funds for Blacklion Golf Club in Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen on Tuesday, 15th of May at 8 pm.
Neven Maguire, although still in his early thirties, has over seventeen years of cooking experience. He has been resident Chef on RTE's Open House and has achieved a number of Awards. Most recently he has won the 'Jameson Chef of the Year' in 2004 and his MacNean House and Restaurant, which has been in the Maguire family for 18 years and has undergone extensive refurbishment, won the 'Best Restaurant in Ulster - Food and Wine Magazine Awards' in both 2003 and 2004. Neven has also won the Georgina Campbell Natural Food Award 2006 and MacNean Restaurant has recently been awarded Georgina Campbell's 'Restaurant of the Year' Award for 2007.
A true family concern, Neven began cooking in the restaurant alongside his mother at the age of 12. Neven's parents, Vera and Joe, originally opened what was then known as MacNean Bistro in 1989.
"My parents were passionately interested in good quality ingredients cooked properly so I learned to appreciate taste and seasonality and to know about the source of ingredients from an early age" says Neven.
Neven has long been presenting his cookery demonstrations and recipe suggestions and is delighted to be hosting this presentation for his uncle, Frank Maguire, to raise funds for Blacklion Golf Club. "I have been giving demonstrations around Ireland for many years now and I love it", says Neven. "It gives me a great opportunity to teach people simple and practical recipes they can use at home and also to hear the feedback of participants. I am really looking forward to hosting this demonstration for Blacklion Golf Club".
Tickets for this fund-raising demonstration for Blacklion Golf Club are priced ?20 / £15 and available from Frank Maguire, Club Captain of Blacklion Golf Club on 087-2533174.
