Thinking outside the box

Year 13 girls from St Comhghall's College, Lisnaskea, accompanied by careers teacher, Margaret Collins, attended a conference for young women in Belfast's Waterfront Hall .

The purpose of the conference entitled, 'Young Women's Inspirational Conference' was to inspire young women to think outside the box about their career choices, the main message being, 'the only thing stopping you is you'. The conference was compered by Wendy Peters aka Cilla Battersby-Brown from Coronation Street, and the keynote address was given by presenter and musician Mylene Class. . Among the other speakers was Patricia Lewsley, Children's Commissioner for Northern Ireland, and a panel of female councillors from the DUP, UUP, Sinn Fein and Alliance Parties. The young women got a chance to try out plumbing and joinery, hairdressing, as well as modelling on the catwalk.
