Trillick driver did not realise car was not taxed

A Trillick motorist who was detected by police driving without insurance or without a vehicle test certificate has appeared before Fermanagh Magistrates Court on these charges.

Brendan McDonnell (50) from Tummery Road, Trillick was stopped by police driving a black BMW along the Cornagrade Road on 6th August last year.

The defendant was the driver and owner of the vehicle.

Police noticed the car had no excise licence and it transpired the vehicle had no vehicle test certificate. When questioned the defendant said 'I didn't even know she wasn't tested'.

For no insurance a £300 fine was imposed and he was disqualified from driving for six months. A £100 fine was imposed for no vehicle test certificate.
