Driver on wrong side
of the road



A driver who was detected driving on the wrong side of the Cornagrade road by police on mobile patrol in the early hours on 28th October last year has been disqualified from driving for 12 months and has been fined £300.

Before the court was thirty year old Martin Francis Hanna from Hillview Road in Enniskillen, who pleaded guilty by letter.

DETECTED

The court heard around 2.20am police detected a vehicle driving down the wrong side of the Cornagrade road. When they stopped this vehicle and spoke to the driver, the defendant, he was asked had he anything to drink which he replied;

'Yea, but I've only had a few'.

The defendant was arrested and taken to Enniskillen Police Station where he provided an evidential specimen of breath, the lower reading being 79mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - 44 in excess.
