Cross-Border tractor charity run

The Aughnacloy Cross-Border Cross-Community Annual Vintage Tractor Charity Run was held recently.

The entourage of 75 Tractors departed Aughnacloy and headed south to Emyvale before turning left there in the direction of Glaslough, halting for a rest at the picturesque beauty spot at Emy Lough.

After half an hour's relaxation, chat and comparing notes, the cavalcade moved off and turned left once again to take them to the historic village of Mullan from where they crossed back into Northern Ireland and, finally to Aughnacloy.

MARVELLOUS

It was a marvellous day. The weather was ideal and the big number of entries made it all worthwhile. This was the fifth year for the Run, and 75 represents a significant increase on the 19 tractors in the first Run.

The route usually covers about 20 miles and takes a different path each year. The proceeds are donated to an agreed charity and, this year Cancer Research will benefit from the event.

The main organisers were Jim Crommie, Sammy Little, Damien Douglas, Stephen Moffett and Brian Sherry.
