Roulston returns
to demolish Burndennett

NORTH FERMANAGH 1ST V BURNDENNETT

North Fermanagh travelled to Burndennett on Saturday in a Senior 2 league match and quite literally snatched victory from what looked certain defeat and North Fermanagh's all rounder Mark Roulston who signed from Burndennett during the closed season was the man of the moment with bat and ball to demolish his former club.

North Fermanagh won the toss and elected to bat on a dull and damp day. Captain Ian Wilson and Niall Murray put on 28 for the first wicket before Wilson was caught and bowled by Williamson for 12. Murray followed shortly after for 18 with the score on 40 and with Emlyn Andrews going for 14 the visitors were 54 for 3 and in danger of a collapse. Mark Roulston came to the wicket and knew that runs would be required and he rose to the challenge against his old club to score an excellent 50 when wickets were falling all around.

He was well supported by Chris Faris who held up his end and batted 15 overs before being run out with the score at 91. John Carlin was the only batsman in the last six to reach double figures and North Fermanagh's inning's came to a close at 130 all out from 48.5 overs.

Burndennett needed 131 for victory and must have been confident that a target of less than 3 runs per over could easily be achieved and North Fermanagh would have to be on top of their game if they were to defend such a modest total to secure the points.

Paul Carlin and Niall Murray opened the bowling for the visitors and Burndennett raced to 58 from ten overs for the loss of two wickets when Mark Roulston and Jim Maguire were introduced and the game turned completely in North Fermanagh's favour with both bowlers in fantastic form. Roulston was absolutely superb and finished with 6 for 19 from ten overs and with Maguire showing how important his skills are to the team finishing with figures of 2 for 8 from six overs to see North Fermanagh home by thirty runs and earn two vital league points.

NORTH FERMANAGH 2NDS V KILLYCLOONEY (INTERMEDIATE 'C' CUP FINAL)
